While I was in Phoenix late in 2019, the Roosevelt Row area became a bit of a repeated destination for me. Initially, much of that had to do with my attraction to the amazing outdoor beer garden at Arizona Wilderness. On my walks to and from my downtown hotel to the bar, I took meandering routes as I discovered the neighbourhood was home to a plethora of vibrant murals. Here are some of my favourites from my time spent wandering around the Roosevelt Row area just to the north of Phoenix’s downtown.
On the side of Angels Trumpet Ale House (where I enjoyed a delicious outdoor pint one evening):

Staying with the brewery theme, this mural by Carrie Marill’s was on the side of what became my favourite beer bar during my visit.

I loved the vibrancy of this Tate Caraveo mural.

A very interesting collage-like mural by Roy Sproul touching on the themes of love, peace and music.

Some psychedelic embellishments on a long, low, property dividing wall.

One of my favourites from the neighbourhood – “La Masa” by Clyde Graffiti spoke to me as a traveler. I know I sometimes have that same far off look in my eyes when I’m away from home exploring.

“Cosmic Paradise” brightening up the far end of a vacant lot.

“Sign of the Times” by Hugo Medina

“Art Awakenings” on North 2nd Street

I loved this topical mural on the side of the Art Awakenings warehouse on North First Street.

“1 1/2 Street Mural” brings some vibrancy to an alley in Roosevelt Row.

A few others from that same alley…

A mural by Laura Spalding Best on Garfield Street.

Last, but not least, this mural by Brian Boner was directly across from my favourite craft beer patio and I enjoyed this as my backdrop on a couple of evenings as the sun set over Phoenix.
